Shared Context Creates Coherence
The aim of the OCW is to form the basis for unified workspace solutions that support the user and the task at hand.
A central feature of the OCW is the unambiguous and visible shared context across all open modules.
The current context – for example a patient encounter – is retained in and shared by all modules. When you select a patient from the patient list, all active modules that contain data about the patient will switch to the new context.
The centrally co-ordinated shared context between modules is based on HL7’s CCOW – Clinical Context Object Workgroup standard.
