LABKAII incorporates a wide range of possibilities for customizing the use of the system to suit the customers’ needs and requirements.
It offers ample scope for meeting the requester’s (clinical departments) need for flexibility as well as wide possibilities for supporting internal workflows at the laboratory.

One of the major features of LABKAII is the ability to communicate with relevant IT systems – thanks to the full use of data exchange standards.
CSC has wide experience with integration of solutions for the health sector. With LABKAII we emphasize maximum openness to enable integration with, for example, electronic patient record (EPR) systems.
Integration with two different Danish EPR systems is already available.

LABKAII is developed for the international market.
LABKAII comprises a text database with the relevant languages. Linking a specific language to the individual user’s access code presents the user with system texts in the chosen language.
LABKAII is based on international standards and recommendations which include:
- ISO 15189: ‘Medical laboratories – Particular requirements for quality and competence’.
- IFCC-IUPAC: ‘International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry’.
- CEN ENV 1613: ‘Medical informatics Messages for exchange of laboratory information’.
- CEN ENV 1614: ‘Structure for nomenclature, classification, and coding of properties in clinical laboratory sciences’.
- ARCH-3: ‘Specifications of the Architecture for an Open Clinical Laboratory Information System Environment

The order/result function gives all laboratory customers online access to communicate with LABKAII.
The laboratory’s data and results are available to the clinical users via intranet. Laboratory service orders can be processed through the very same channels.
The order/result facility is developed with a web-based HTML client based on Microsoft Internet Explorer V. 6.0 or 7.0.

LABKAII contains a unique multilab function that significantly optimizes efficiency.
The multilab function supports distribution of analysis tasks between the associated laboratories and enables laboratory units to serve as a backup for each other.
The multilab function can be fully utilized by laboratories sharing the same application server.

LABKAII comes with a graphical user interface which makes it easy to use the solution in the daily work.
In addition, LABKAII has a built-in e-Learning function. In that way help and instructions on how to use the system are right there at your fingertips – anytime and anywhere.
